Air hostess-turned-actor Shirin Kanchwala is set to make her debut in Tamil cinema with Sivakarthikeyan's second production venture, Nenjamundu Nermaiundu Odu Raja. The actor, who has previously starred in Telugu and Kannada films like Desa Dimmari and Viraaj, plays a news reporter named Nisha in her first Tamil film. "I was patiently waiting for the right film to make my debut in Tamil, and I'm happy that I got this role through an audition. The character I play has no resemblance to any other journalist who has appeared on screen, so I didn't need to look for references for the role. However, I worked a lot on getting the lip sync right; I got the script and dialogues in advance and practised a lot."

She feels that her hard work has paid off. "I performed a dialogue-heavy scene when Sivakarthikeyan visited us on the sets. Once the shot was done, he said that I've done a good job and my performance doesn't look like a newcomer's."

Shirin says the film by the Black Sheep team has a strong message for the audience. "Though the film is primarily a comedy, it has a very strong social message and the climax will definitely make an impact."

Directed by Karthik Venugopalan, Nenjamundu Nermaiyundu Odu Raja has Rio Raj playing the male lead. It also features RJ Vignesh, Put Chutney's Raj Mohan, Radha Ravi, and Nanjil Sampath in important roles. The film is currently in the post-production stage and is expected to hit the screens soon.
