I want to take up characters that will be remembered by the audience: Shanvi Srivastava

Shanvi Srivastava is an actor who has no qualms being part of a multi-starrer, provided she stands out with a strong role. She plays the female lead in the Rakshit Shetty-starrer Avane Srimannarayana, and she also has Ravi Chandra and Geetha in her kitty. The actor, who is currently juggling between the three projects, tweeted her look from Geetha today.

“When it comes to a movie, I don't think about the number of heroines. All that matters to me is my character, and I want it to be a strong one. The best example of this approach is my previous film, Tarak. Though the character didn’t have a happy ending, it was a very strong role. I want to take up characters that will be remembered long after people leave the theatre,” she says.

Shanvi also throws some light on her role in Geetha. “I play an IT girl who respects relationships. At the same time, there is a twist to my character, which gives me a lot of scope to perform. The film features multiple shades of me as an actor,” she says, adding,  “This film will feature three heroines. But even if I was given the option of picking my role, I would still stick to the one I have bagged.”

The actor reveals that the Geetha team was initially sceptical in approaching her because the film already had two other heroines. “In fact, there were heroines, who rejected the project for this reason. I was hesitant only because of date issues, but never for the character.  But the makers completely trusted me.”

Shanvi completed her first day of shoot yesterday and she has 35 more days to go.
