Actor Latha Hegde talks about her career and her next film Ananthu v/s Nusrath

Latha Hegde, a Kannadiga from New Zealand, tested the waters with Athiratha and now she is back to making news with Ananthu v/s Nusrath. The Sudheer Shanbhogue-directorial will see her opposite Vinay Rajkumar.

“For me, studies took first priority. I was pursing an MBA when I was randomly scouted to act in Kannada cinema. I thought I should give it a try and that is how Athiratha happened. However, I have not planned my next move after completing my MBA. Cinema is, of course, a good experience, but it becomes hard when you are away from home. It’s hard to juggle a career from half-way across the world,” she says.

The reason Latha picked this project was her character. “In the film, I had to play a Muslim woman, and the character as well as the story itself stood out, and so I accepted the role.” She does admit that the character she signed up for is in contrast to her own personality. “Nusrath is a judge, who is serious, composed and speaks when spoken to. However, I’m a chatterbox,”  she laughs.
