Pawan Kalyan's 1996-debut Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi - a love story between two youngsters who belong to rival families - was an official remake of Aamir Khan-starrer Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak.
Pawan's sophomore film, Gokulam Lo Seetha, yet another love story, was an official remake of the Tamil film Gookalathil Seethai starring Karthik and Suvalakshmi in lead roles.
Continuing with the streak of successful remakes, Suswagatham, the actor's third film, was a remake of the Vijay-starrer Love Today. Devayani played Suvalakshmi's character in the remake.
