As the film completes 25 years, we give you some interesting trivia on its making

The first movie to feature Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan on screen together.

The movie was originally entitled 'Kaynaat'. Ajay Devgn was the first choice of Karan (Salman Khan).

In the same year, SRK and Kajol gave another blockbuster 'Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge'.

The super hit song 'jaati hoon mein' was actually a rejected tune as Rajesh roshan found it as not perfect & incomplete song.

Salman Khan exposed his bare chested body for the first time where in he had worked out a good physique.

Juhi Chawla was the first choice for the role of Sonia (Kajol).

Karishma Kapoor rejected the role, that Mamta Kulkarni eventually played.

Salman Khan was about to leave the film as he was simultaneously shooting for Hum Aapke Hain Kaun and was having a hectic schedule but was convinced by HAHK director Sooraj Barjatya not to leave.

Salman Khan and photographer Rakesh Shesthra had a massive fist fight on the sets of Karan Arjun over an incident of photo leaks that were allegedly done by Rakesh.

Mamta Kulkarni claimed that Shah Rukh and Salman ganged up on her and kept making jokes about her. Shah Rukh denied this and said Mamta was only looking for publicity.

Rajat Bedi did a body double for Shahrukh Khan in action scenes of this film.

Sunny Deol was also considered for the role along with Ajay Devgan when the movie was intially titled 'Kaynaath'.

Hrithik Roshan worked as an assistant director in the film.

Akshay Kumar was also initially offered Shahrukh Khan's role in the film.

The Durga temple shown in the film is located at Pushkar near Ajmer.

The themes from 'The Terminator' & 'The Last of the Mohicans' were featured throughout the film, especially during fight & jail scene.

The pirated version of the film which released on VHS had totally cut of Jhonny Lever's role.

When Ajay Devgan walked out of the film, Sanjay Kapoor was approached. Boney Kapoor told Rakesh Roshan that Sanjay would not do any two hero films.

The only time Mamta Kulkarni appeared in a movie which Shahrukh Khan starred but the two never been paired in a movie in the 90s.

Shah Rukh Khan accepted the film despite having no faith in the script. He did not believe in reincarnation. It was Rakesh Roshan who told him to just sign the film and leave the rest to him.

Gauri Khan did not like the picturization of Jaati Hoon Main and found it very vulgar. She told this to Shah Rukh after she saw the initial rushes.

Kajol and Rakesh Roshan had a major showdown over a costume. Kajol hated the fitting and refused to shoot. Shah Rukh had to step in and resolve the issue.

Shahrukh, Kajol, Rakhee and Johnny Lever have all appeared in 'Baazigar' (1993).

Ram Lakhan 1989,Karan Arjun 1995 and Shyam Ghanshyam 1998 are three films where Rakhee played the mother and Amrish Puri played the villain with revenge as backdrop.

The whole film was shot in Rajasthan. More specifically, the village which is portrayed in film is one of villages of Alwar District of Rajasthan, named Bhangarh.

Sariska Palace was used as Thakur Durjan Singh's house.

Deepshika Nagpal was offered Mamta Kulkarni's role. But she declined it hoping Rakesh would sign her sister Akruti Nagpal. Rakesh later worked with Deepshika in Koyla.

Sunil Shetty was also approached for the film he was to do Salman Khan's role in the film But Rakesh Roshan didn't find him fitting the character completely

KI & Dolly Boy song 'Same Girl' is a cover version of 'Yeh Bandhan To'.

The Baba Shehgal song 'MERE KARAN ARJUN AAYENNGGE' was a tribute to the film.

Aamir Khan was also offered this movie by Rakesh Roshan. While Aamir loved the script and thought it would be a super-hit, he did not connect with his role and therefore declined it.

Nagma was originally considered for the role of Bindiya (Mamta Kulkarni).

Rakesh roshan and Rakhee played the lead in Rakesh Roshan's father-in-law J. Omprakash's 'Aankhon Aankhon Mein' (1972). After 20 years Rakesh Roshan directed Rakhee in his home production.

In many theaters the film was simultaneously released with Hum Aapke Hain Kaun which was running to packed houses. HAHK was released 5 month before Karan Arjun.

Raveena Tandon was signed for the film before she was replaced by Mamta.

The only film of Rakhee Gulzar and Salman Khan.

Raza Murad was the first choice for Ranjeet's role

The film had a theatrical release in Canada.

Sanjay Dutt was approached for Salman Khan's role at one point.

Armaan Kohli was signed for Shahrukh Khan's role along with Salman Khan in the film but due to some unknown reasons he opted out from the film at last minute Shahrukh Khan replaced him later.

Jaati Hoon Main had a remix cover version in the album Love 2 Love by 2Kool. This was in 1995.

The lyrics for all the songs were penned by Indeeva.

The film's writing credits went to Sachin Bhowmick, Ravi Kapoor, and Anwar Khan.

Karan Arjun was the second-highest-grossing Indian film of 1995, after Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge.

The song Jai Kaali sampled Easy 17 song 'Its Allright'.

The film was made on a budget of Rs 60 million.
