Netflix unveiled the trailer for the second season of Survival of the Thickest on Tuesday. The comedy-drama series, created by Michelle Buteau and Danielle Sanchez-Witzel, also stars the former in the lead role as Mavis.
Season 1 of Survival of the Thickest showed Mavis, a single Black woman and stylist, struggling and trying to rebuild her life with the support of loved ones and her own confidence and positivity. The trailer for the second season shows Mavis' styling business gaining momentum, and her taking bold steps to shake up the high-fashion scene, all while navigating a tumultuous love life.
Survival of the Thickest also stars Tone Bell and Tasha Smith in lead roles. Garcelle Beauvais, Ambre Anderson, Anissa Felix, Peppermint, Taylor Selé, and Marouane Zotti play important supporting characters in the series.
Based on Buteau's memoir of the same name, the first season of the series premiered on Netflix on July 13, 2023. The second season of Survival of the Thickest is all set to stream on the platform from March 27.
