Dupahiya S2 (Prime Video, Oct 1)
Gajraj Rao, Renuka Shahane, Sparsh Shrivastava, and Bhuvan Arora starrer comedy-drama series returns with season 2. The new season focuses on Gajraj’s Banwari who finds a new money-making opportunity with a barren piece of land, while Shivani Raghuvanshi’s Roshini resorts to ethical means to clear her SSC exam, with is Amavas (Bhuvan Arora) by her side.
Directed by Sonam Nair, and created-written by Avinash Dwivedi, and Chirag Garg, Dupahiya S2 also features Dinesh Lal Yadav and Yashpal Sharma.
Pooja Meri Jaan (Zee 5, Oct 2)
Mrunal Thakur headlines the gritty thriller about a young woman who finds herself at the centre of a public witch-hunt, and held responsible for death of her friend Aniket (Vikram Singh Chauhan), whose romantic advances she had rejected. Huma Qureshi plays a lawyer who has a tough battle ahead, struggling to defend a woman who has already been declared guilty by media and society, if not the law.
Directed by Navjot Gulati, Pooja Meri Jaan also features Vijay Raaz, Charu Shankar, and Priyansh Jora in key roles. The film is produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik.
Ohh My Dog (Netflix, Oct 1)
New Hindi OTT releases also include Ohh My Dog, the canine drama-thriller directed by Amit Rai, and starring Pankaj Tripathi and Pavan Malhotra in key roles, which will have its OTT premiere tomorrow after a theatrical window of 8 weeks.
Also featuring Geeta Aggarwal Sharma, Rajesh Kumar and Shreedhar Dubey in key roles, the film tells two stories at once — While Appu (Mahi Rai) loses his indie dog Momo, who doesn’t return after running out to fetch a ball, Prince, a young labourer in Bihar goes missing, compelling his loyal dog Oscar to turn into a dog detective. The film had in its technical team Máté Herbai as the cinematographer, who has worked on prominent international films like On Body and Soul (2017) among others.
Chumbak (Netflix, Oct 1)
The Netflix original sitcom which recently had its Season 1 premiere, is now back with another season.
Featuring Neena Gupta, Deven Bhojani, Amyra Dastur, Anant V Joshi, Sumeet Vyas, Manasi Parekh, Arjun Bijlani, Helly Shah, Sumeet Raghvan and Sandeepa Dhar in lead cast, Chumbak follows five families — living in an urban neighbourhood named Chumbak society — whose lives are so intertwined that neighbours become less like people next door and more like permanent family.
Chumbak S2 is written and directed by Aatish Kapadia.
