While Diwali brings a wave of memories for every person, the importance of food, especially sweets never wavers in each of them. For Samantha, who serves as a celebrity judge on Celebrity MasterChef Tamil, thus is the case.
During an upcoming episode of the series, Samantha recalls that her favourite sweet from the festival was the adhirasam. She continues to recount that during the festival in her childhood, she used to save up Rs 1 to get the sweets from a shop outside her house. The actor says that the memory is now bittersweet, as she won't be able to do the same thing now.
Chef Venkatesh Bhat, another judge on the show, also asserts that his favourite sweet from Diwali is the adhirasam, and the dry-fruit mixture too. He also adds that the festivities and the crackers which began with the Diwali would continue all the way until the day of the Karthigai Deepam, which proved for some happy memories.
The upcoming Diwali episode of Celebrity MasterChef Tamil focuses on Deepavali palagarams (Diwali sweets), with the challenge for the contestants being to create a four dish Diwali sweet box within 90 minutes, that is a mixture of sweets and savouries.
