David Oyelowo and Hayley Atwell will lead the cast of the upcoming adventure series, Treasure Island, which is developed by Paramount and Amazon MGM Studios. Based on Robert Louis Stevenson's novel of the same name, the upcoming series is commissioned for six episodes.
The upcoming series is created by Robert Murphy. Jeremy Lovering, William McGregor, and Paul Walker. Mark Hedges is producing the show. Murphy and Lovering are also serving as executive producers.
The story of the upcoming series, centres on Jim Hawkins (Tom Sweet), who after finding a map that leads to a treasure on Skeleton Island, in the Carribean region, which is on the brink of revolution. Jim and his mother, Bess (Atwell) with the help of the crew of The Hispaniola, including the charismatic pirate Long John Silver (Oyelowo) and British agent Aaron Graham (Jack Huston). Tomer Capone, known for his work in The Boys, is playing Billy Bones in the series.
