Virat Karnna's latest fantasy-supernatural film Nagabandham has premiered on OTT three weeks after its release in theatres. Directed by Abhishek Nama, the ambitious film which also has a mythological backdrop, featured Nabha Natesh and Ishwarya Menon as female leads.
The film's description reads, "When an ancient relic resurfaces centuries after an Afghan invasion, a humble fisherman is drawn into a forgotten war between immortal forces guarding a legendary Himalayan treasure. After losing everything he loves, he embraces his destiny and races to stop an ancient enemy from unlocking the sacred Nagabandham and unleashing unimaginable power."
Upon release earlier this month, the film was met with mixed reviews from audiences and critics.
In our CE review of the film, we had written, "Fantasy, mythology, and period dramas have become increasingly popular in Indian cinema, and Nagabandham attempts to blend all three genre elements. The story revolves around the hidden treasures of ancient temples and mythology. While director Abhishek Nama succeeds in creating a visually rich cinematic world, the film falls short in terms of storytelling and narration."
The film also stars Jagapathi Babu, Rishabh Sawhney, Jayaprakash, Murali Sharma, and BS Avinash in key roles.
On the technical team, Nagabandham had cinematography by Soundar Rajan, and music by Junaid Kumar and Abhe. The film was backed by Kishore Annapureddy and Nishitha Nagireddy.
Nagabandham is available to stream on Prime Video.
