On Thursday, Prime Video officially announced a new premiere date for its much-anticipated crime-thriller Daldal. Bhumi Pednekar plays the lead role in the series that will begin streaming on January 30.

Created by Suresh Triveni and directed by Amrit Raj Gupta, Daldal is inspired by Vish Dhamija's novel Bhendi Bazaar.  It follows Mumbai's new DCP Rita Ferreira (Bhumi) as she investigates a string of brutal murders while wrestling with her own personal struggles. The makers also shared a new poster of their series, that captures the morbid sense of terror and violence that lies at the core of their narrative.

Daldal also features Aditya Rawal and Samara Tijori in key roles. Vikram Malhotra is producing the series under his banner Abunduntia Entertainment in association with Suresh Triveni. Priya Saggi, Sreekanth Agneeaswaran, Rohan D’Souza, and Hussain Haidry share writing credits.

The project has been in the making for a long time now. It was announced by Prime Video nearly two years ago. At IFFI 2025, the makers released the first release of their series. On the occasion, Bhumi had talked about her role at length, saying, “For the first time, I didn't have dialogues or even expressive eyes to rely on. I had to communicate through the smallest physical cues: how her neck tightens with guilt or how her body responds to anger. It took months to come out of it. But it was also deeply satisfying because I was pushed, really pushed, by a team that believed in complexity, in darkness, in writing anti-hero traits for women.”

Bhumi was previously seen in the Netflix series The Royals, which also starred Ishaan Khatter in the lead.
