On Thursday, Netflix unveiled the trailer for Detective Hole, a crime series based on the Norwegian author Nesbø's novels, directed by Anna Zackrisson.
The whodunnit serial killer mystery is led by famed anti-hero Harry Hole, a brilliant but tormented homicide detective who struggles with his demons. Underneath the surface, Jo Nesbo’s Detective Hole is a nuanced character drama about two police officers, and supposed colleagues, operating on opposite sides of the law. Throughout the first season, Harry goes head-to-head with his long-time adversary, the corrupt Detective Tom Waaler, as the two navigate the blurred ethical lines of the criminal justice system. But only time will tell whether Harry can catch the serial killer while also bringing Tom to justice before it’s too late.
The official description reads, "When a series of ritualistic murders hits Oslo, a gifted detective must navigate a puzzle of patterns, corruption and his own demons to catch the killer."
While 28 actors are a part of the series' cast, Peter Stormare, Andres Baasmo, Ellen Helinder, Simon Berger, Ingrid Bolsø Berdal and Kelly Gale play supporting roles. Detective Hole is led by Tobias Santelmann, Joel Kinnaman and Pia Tjelta in prominent roles.
Created and written by Nesbø, Detective Hole's other director is Øystein Karlsen. The series, which is set to debut on Netflix on March 26, is produced by Tor Arne Øvrebø from Working Title Television and Universal International Studios, while Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, Katy Rozelle, Rene Ezra, Øystein Karlsen, Nesbø, and Niclas Salomonsson serve as the executive producers.
