Netflix is expanding its Korean romance lineup with Long Vacation, a new series directed by Lee Jung-hyo, best known for Crash Landing on You, Doona! and The Price of Confession.
Fronted by Choo Young-woo and Lee Se-young, the series brings together a fantasy-tinged love story set against a seaside backdrop. Choo takes on the role of Demon 3375, while Lee plays Deul-pan, a hotel room attendant navigating a demanding everyday life.
According to the official synopsis, Long Vacation follows “Demon 3375, a powerful being who has lived for centuries without ever understanding love, and Deul-pan, a sharp, highly capable hotel room attendant whose everyday life is anything but easy. When the two keep crossing paths at a seaside hotel, an unexpected relationship begins to shake everything Demon 3375 thought he knew.”
The screenplay comes from Jung Hyun-jung, a seasoned name in the romance genre with credits such as I Need Romance, Lovestruck in the City, Romance Is a Bonus Book and Discovery of Love.
Both lead actors bring a strong portfolio of past work. Choo has appeared in Oasis, The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call and the film Even If This Love Disappears from the World Tonight, while Lee is known for Man Who Sets the Table, Bring It On, Ghost and Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency.
The announcement comes as Netflix continues to invest heavily in Korean romance stories. Among the upcoming titles is Possible Love, marking Lee Chang-dong’s return to directing after eight years. The film explores the intersecting lives of two married couples and stars Jeon Do-yeon, Sul Kyung-gu, Zo In-sung and Cho Yeo-jeong.
Other projects in the streamer’s romance slate include Can This Love Be Translated? with Kim Seon-ho and Go Youn-jung, No Tail to Tell starring Kim Hye-yoon and Lomon, Our Sticky Love featuring Jung Hae-in and Ha Young, Take Charge of My Heart with Kim Young-kwang and Chae Soo-bin, as well as Sold Out On You starring Ahn Hyo-seop and Chae Won-bin.
