After amassing over $300 million in box office collections in its theatrical run, Final Destination: Bloodlines is officially set to make its OTT premiere in India. JioHotstar had announced that the supernatural horror film will start streaming on their platform from October 16.
The sixth installment in the Final Destination film series, following Final Destination 5 (2011), Final Destination Bloodlines stars Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Teo Briones, Richard Harmon, Owen Patrick Joyner, Anna Lore, with Brec Bassinger and Tony Todd in his final film appearance before his death.
Kaitlyn Santa Juana plays as a college student named Stefani Reyes, who inherits visions of a 1968 premonition that averted a deadly skyscraper failure from her dying grandmother Iris, who warns Stefani that Death is coming for their family. The latest film serves as both a prequel and a sequel to the Final Destination film series.
Our CE review of the film read, "True to its legacy, the Final Destination franchise continues to outdo itself, staging elaborate accidents across varied terrains and getting ever more creative with its carnage."
Final Destination Bloodlines has its screenplay written by Guy Busick and Lori Evans Taylor from a story by Jon Watts, Busick and Taylor.
The film is produced by Craig Perry, Sheila Hanahan Taylor, Jon Watts, Dianne McGunigle and Toby Emmerich. David Siegel and Warren Zide are the executive producers. Practical Pictures, Freshman Year, and Fireside Films are behind the film.
Final Destination: Bloodlines, which was released in May this year, came 14 years after the fifth instalment and went on to become the highest-grossing installment in the franchise.
Meanwhile, Final Destination will be back with a seventh film. Final Destination: Bloodlines co-writer Lori Evans Taylor is returning to script the new film for New Line. Further details on the cast and story are yet to be announced.
