SonyLIV has unveiled the first trailer for Kuttram Purindhavan: The Guilty One, an upcoming web series helmed by noted director RK Selvamani, who's making his debut into the OTT space. Pasupathy stars as the lead in the show that promises "a tense, character-driven narrative filled with twists, moral dilemmas, and the search for redemption."
The 2.19-minute-long trailer opens with a man seeking help from Pasupathy to save his young daughter who seems to have been sexually assaulted. A perplexed and horrified Pasupathy, who plays Bhaskar, is unaware of what to do and how to deal with the issue. Later, it is known that the girl went missing a few days ago and her mother Esther (Lakshmipriyaa Chandramouli) trying all that she can to search for her daughter. A complaint is filed and the cops too begin to investigate the case. Vidaarth also plays a police constable in the film.
The trailer also reveals that Bhaskar's son is suffering from a neurological issue that needs urgent surgery. He is in the verge of retirement, but isn't able to gather the money for the treatment. A series of events later, Bhaskar and his family are tied to events that cause various ripple effects in their life, essentially putting them in grave danger. It is clear that Bhaskar's good deed has gone wrong and that he now bears a burden, the guilt of which is too heavy to bear or hide.
Kuttram Purindhavan also stars Lizzie Antony,Munnar Ramesh and Ajit Koshy in key roles. A release date for the series is yet to be announced by the makers.
