Mrs Deshpande (JioHotstar, December 19): The dhak-dhak girl goes ‘Hanniballistic’ in the upcoming psychological thriller series. Directed by Nagesh Kukunoor, the OTT show revolves around Madhuri Dixit’s titular Mrs Deshpande, a convicted serial killer, who helps the police to catch another killer committing murders like she used to. It also features Priyanshu Chatterjee as the cop investigating the case.
Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders (Netflix, December 19): A new story, a new case. Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s tough-cop Jatil Yadav is back, this time investigating a gruesome murder of all, except one, members of an influential business family. The survivor (played by Chitrangda Singh) might have some answers. The mystery is also somehow connected to a mysterious cult, headed by Deepti Naval. The film is directed by Honey Trehan with Smita Singh again on scripting duties.
The Great Indian Kapil Show season 4 (Netflix, December 20): There is nothing like too much Kapil. In the new season of the comedy talk-show, the country’s favourite comedian will be essaying new avatars-- from GenZ Baba and Tau ji to Raja, and Mantri Ji. The regular laugh-lot of Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda and Sunil Grover is set to return too along with Archana Puran Singh and Navjot Singh Sidhu.
