After a successful run at the box office, actor Vijay's latest film The Greatest of All Time (GOAT), directed by Venkat Prabhu will now be released soon on OTT platform Netflix. Sharing the announcement, the streaming giant wrote, "Ever seen a lion become a G.O.A.T?! Thalapathy Vijay’s The G.O.A.T- The Greatest Of All Time is coming to Netflix on 3 October in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi."
The film, which stars Vijay in dual roles, follows Gandhi, the former leader of an anti-terrorism squad, who reunites with his squad members to address the problems which were stemmed from their previous actions. This is Vijay's penultimate film before his full-fledged political entry.
The film opened to mixed to positive reviews when it released on September 5. Our CE review of the film read, "As the truth about Gandhi’s son, Jeevan/Sanjay, becomes evident to us, the film seems rather unsure about treating this very serious situation… seriously. This isn’t about Vijay playing the character in a bit of an unhinged way; it just feels like the film doesn’t quite make up its mind on what it wants to do with Sanjay."
Apart from Vijay, GOAT also stars Prashanth, Ajmal Ameer, Sneha, Laila, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Prabhu Deva, Mohan, and Jayaram in prominent roles. Venkat Prabhu's frequent collaborators Vaibhav, Premgi, Ajai Raj, and Aravind Akash also play significant roles in the film.
GOAT, directed by Venkat Prabhu, has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, cinematography by Siddhartha Nuni, editing by Venkat Raajen, art direction by Rajeevan, and action choreography by Dileep Subbarayan. Kalpathi S Aghoram has produced the film under the AGS Entertainment banner, with Archana Kalpathi serving as the creative producer.
