Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie trailer: Spongebob and Sandy go on a town-saving adventure

Netflix unveiled the trailer for their upcoming adventure comedy film Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie, on Tuesday. The film is based on the animated television series SpongeBob SquarePants, created by Stephen Hillenburg, and is helmed by Liza Johnson.

With special focus on the squirrely character, Sandy Cheeks, the trailer for the upcoming film shows Spongebob teaming up with a former to save the titular Bikini Bottoms underwater settlement from corporate villains. The film's logline reads, "When Bikini Bottom and all its denizens are suddenly scooped out of the ocean, Sandy Cheeks and SpongeBob SquarePants journey to Texas to save the town from a villainous plot."

The film, which is partly animated and partly live-action, features Carolyn Lawrence as Sandy Cheeks, Tom Kenny as SpongeBob SquarePants, Gary the Snail, Clancy Brown as Mr Krabs, Bill Fagerbakke as Patrick Star and Rodger Bumpass as Squidward Tentacles. Johnny Knoxville, Craig Robinson, Grey DeLisle, Ilia Isorelýs Paulino, Matty Cardarople, and Wanda Sykes round out the cast of Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie.

Written by Tom Stern and Kaz, the upcoming film is all set to premiere on Netflix on August 2.
