Apple TV+ renews Slow Horses for another season

Apple TV+'s Slow Horses has been renewed for another season. An espionage drama, the series stars Gary Oldman in the lead role. The series is adapted from the eponymous spy series by Mick Herron. The fifth season is set to be adapted from the fifth book in Herron’s series.

After the release of season 2, the series was automatically recommissioned for seasons 3 and 4. The finale episode of the third season premiered recently on December 27, and the season 5 renewal comes shortly after.

Slow Horses is a darkly humorous espionage drama that follows a dysfunctional team of British intelligence agents who serve in a dumping-ground department of MI5 known un-affectionately as Slough House,” reads the official synopsis.

The official logline for season 5 reads, “Everyone is suspicious when resident tech nerd Roddy Ho has a glamorous new girlfriend, but when a series of increasingly bizarre events occur across the city, it falls to the Slow Horses to work out how everything is connected."

Apart from Gary, the series also stars Kristin Scott Thomas, Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves, Rosalind Eleazar, Christopher Chung, Freddie Fox, Chris Reilly, Samuel West, Sophie Okonedo, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Kadiff Kirwan and Jonathan Pryce.

Slow Horses is backed by See-Saw Films and adapted for television by Will Smith. Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, Iain Canning, Emile Sherman, Douglas Urbanski, Gail Mutrux, Will Smith, Jane Robertson and Graham Yost serve as executive producers on the series.
