We had earlier reported that the second season of director Ahammed Khabeer's crime-drama web series Kerala Crime Files has been announced. The first-look poster was also shared along with the announcement. Now, the Madhuram director took to his social media handles to share that the filming for the series has begun.

He posted a picture of the clapperboard and said, "Filming Starts Today. Need all your Blessings."

Kerala Crime Files Season 2 marks the production debut of Ahammed's latest venture, Monkey Business. It is written by Bahul Ramesh and edited by Mahesh Bhuvanend, with music by Hesham Abdul Wahab and art direction by Satheesh Nellaya. Bahul handled the cinematography for films like Mandharam, Mohan Kumar Fans, and Innale Vare, and he is also writing the script for  Asif Ali's upcoming film Kishkkindha Kandam.

The first season of Kerala Crime Files gained critical acclaim and audience appreciation, with its depiction of an investigation into a murder at a lodge in Cochin. It stars Aju Varghese as the lead investigator in his web series debut, alongside relative newcomers like Navas Vallikkunnu, Zhinz Shan, Sanju Sanichen, and Rooth P John. The second season of Kerala Crime Files will be streamed on Disney+ Hotstar soon. Details about the rest of the cast has not been announced yet.

Up next, director Ahammed Khabeer is also working on his upcoming untitled film which stars Arjun Das in the lead. The film will have music by Hesham Abdul Wahab.
