Marvel released the first trailer for its upcoming Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. The animated prequel series, which is set to debut on Disney+ on January 29, explores a parallel timeline where Peter Parker (voiced by Hudson Thames) is mentored by Norman Osborn (Colman Domingo), aka the Green Goblin, instead of Tony Stark like in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The official logline describes the show as “an animated series that follows Peter Parker on his way to becoming a hero, with a journey unlike we’ve ever seen and a style that celebrates the character’s early comic book roots.”

Directed by Mel Zwyer, the voice cast also includes Kari Wahlgren as Aunt May and Hugh Dancy as Doctor Octopus. Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio are set to reprise their roles from the Daredevil Netflix series while Paul F Tompkins will be essaying the role of The Wizard.

In the two-minute-long trailer, we see a young Spider-Man in two new outfits - one that fits his teenage style and one that is designed the traditional way. We see him being clumsy while also getting out of class to save people from criminals. It is here that we see Peter joining hands with the Oscorp leader. He says, "With my help, you’ll achieve greatness," and gives him a brand new suit.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is written by Jeff Trammell. Brad Winderbaum, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Dana Vasquez-Eberhardt and Jeff Trammell are executive producers of the show.
