Dil Dosti Dilemma trailer: Anushka Sen undertakes a journey to go back to the roots

The trailer of Tanvi Azmi-starrer Dil Dosti Dilemma was released by the makers on Tuesday. The young-adult drama is directed by Debbie Rao and also stars Anushka Sen, Kush Jotwani, Shishir Sharma as leads and Shruti Seth, Vishakha Pandey, Revathi Pillai, Elisha Mayor, and Suhasini Mulay in pivotal roles. It is based on Andaleeb Wajid’s novel Asmara’s Summer. It is written for the screen by Anuradha Tiwari, Bugs Bhargava Krishna, Raghav Dutt, and Manjiri Pupala.

The trailer introduces us to Asmara, a teenager from a privileged family in Bengaluru, who is excited to spend her summer holidays in Canada. But her plans take an unexpected turn when she ends up at Tibbri Road, the middle-class neighborhood of her maternal grandparents. What she initially views as a punishment soon becomes a journey of new experiences and realizations. Through some mishaps, new friendships, a budding romance, and many heartwarming moments, Asmara begins to understand that there is more to life than material things and luxury vacations. Tanvi Azmi plays the role of her grandmother while Shruti Seth essays the role of her mother in the show.

Speaking about the show, director Debbie Rao, said in a press release, “Dil Dosti Dilemma is a special project for me, marking my second collaboration with Prime Video after Pushpavalli. When I came across the script, what struck me was its ability to deliver a wholesome narrative that resonates with everyone featuring relatable characters one can truly connect with.”

Actor Anushka Sen, who plays Asmara in the show, added in her note, “What really drew me to this story is that it is a celebration of friendships and the importance of family bonds. I believe Dil Dosti Dilemma is a fresh, relatable story that speaks to people of all ages.”

Tanvi Azmi spoke about her role in the show and shared in her statement, “My character in Dil Dosti Dilemma embodies pride in her roots and embraces change gradually, and is sometimes stubborn but also sees the best in others. The show has heart, soul, and relatability that will captivate audiences’ attention from the very beginning.”

The series is produced by Ten Years Younger Productions, with Seema Mohapatra and Jahanara Bhargava serving as Creative Producers. It will premiere on Prime Video on April 25.
