The teaser of Madhavan and Kay Kay Menon-starrer The Railway Men has been unveiled by Netflix. This is the first project in the multi-year partnership between Yash Raj Films and the streaming giant.
Sharing the teaser, Netflix wrote, "One tragic night that stirred the entire nation and four heroes who fought through it all."
The less than one-and-a-half-minute teaser shows a big tragedy taking place in a factory and life falling apart around it. The teaser opens with glimpses of a gas leak in a big factory where people are seen running around to save their lives with clothes covering their noses and mouths so that they can safeguard themselves from the harmful gas.
Starring Madhavan, Kay Kay Menon, Divyendu Sharma and Babil Khan in prominent roles, the four-part limited series marks the maiden directorial venture of debutant Shiv Rawail.
R Madhavan plays the General Manager of Central Railways where Kay Kay Menon is the station master. Divyenndu plays a police constable while Babil Khan essays the role of a loco pilot.
Touted to be a character-driven thriller, The Railway Men, which will be a four-episode series, is inspired by true stories. It is based on the Bhopal Gas Tragedy where a cloud of toxic gas escaped from a pesticide plant, on the night of December 2, 1984, resulting in the death of many. It will further tell the story of the unsung heroes, who rose to the occasion and saved the day that night.
Aayush Gupta has written the story of The Railway Men, which is backed by YRF Entertainment.
The Railway Men premieres worldwide on November 18.
