ZEE5 announces Tamil docu-series Koose Munisamy Veerappan

The streaming platform ZEE5, on Friday, announced a new Tamil docu-series titled Koose Munisamy Veerappan and also unveiled the trailer of the series. The series gives a deep dive into the real life of the titular Veerappan. 

The series is set to give us a mix of real-life footage and firsthand accounts from individuals who were close to him. It will also have the perspective of the official who tirelessly devised ways to capture him. Most of all, the series is different from other projects on Veerappan, as it will be primarily narrated by Veerappan himself. 

In an official statement, journalist Nakkheeran Gopal said, “We have invested huge efforts and taken significant risks to secure an interview with Veerappan. For the first time, this detailed version of the interview will be presented in a documentary narrative to the audience on the ZEE5 OTT platform under the title Koose Munisamy Veerappan." 

Further, the show's producer Prabhavathi, who is backing the series under the Dheeran Productions banner, said, "We established Dheeran Productions with the goal of producing and showcasing local stories at a world-class standard, particularly in an environment where our people's expectations and acceptance have grown through exposure to numerous international productions. Following the launch of our inaugural production, Koose Munisamy Veerappan, a top-tier docu-series, we are confident that the audience for the 'docu-series' genre in India will experience a significant surge.”

Directed by Sharath Jothi, Koose Munisamy Veerappan is created by Jeyachandra Hashmi, Prabhavathi RV, and Vasanth Balakrishnan. The upcoming docu-series is all set to premiere on ZEE5 on December 8 and will be available to stream in Tamil, Kannada, Hindi and Telugu.
