Bridgerton season 3 gets release date

Netflix announced the release date of the third season of their popular period series, Bridgerton, on Tuesday. The series will premiere on the platform in 2 parts. With part 1 slated for May 16, 2024, part 2 will be available to stream from June 13, 2024.

The new season will focus on the love story of Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton). In addition to the existing cast, the show will also feature three new actors, Daniel Francis, Sam Philips and James Phoon. While Francis plays a charismatic who attracts matriarchs of the town, reports suggest that Philips play a Lord with unusual interest.

Focusing on the lives of Penelope and Colin, Bridgerton season three will explore the couple’s lives and how Penelope tries to live a double life as Lady Whistedown, while Colin tries to get friendlier with Penelope.

The main cast of Bridgerton also includes Adjoa Andoh, Jonathan Bailey, Ruth Gemmell, Florence Hunt, Claudia Jessie, Ben Miller, Golda Rosheuvel, and Luke Thompson, among others. While Rege Jean Page led the first season along with Phoebe Dyenover, he did not make a return to the second. The latter has also confirmed that she will not be reprising her part in the third season.

The second season also had Simone Ashley and Charithra Chandran as new cast members. That season revolved around the love story between Bailey's Lord Viscount Anthony Bridgerton and Ashley's Kathani "Kate" Sharma.

Created by Chris Van Dusen, Bridgerton is based on the eponymous novel franchise by Julia Quinn. The spinoff of the series, titled Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, premiered on Netflix earlier this year, and portrayed the life of the Queen and King George III.
