The makers of I'm Game, starring Dulquer Salmaan, revealed on Tuesday that the film has received a U/A 16+ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification. This news comes after speculation about the Censor Board asking the makers to remove some terms and images concerning gambling for a U/A certificate. Announcing the news, Dulquer Salmaan wrote in the caption, "No more waiting around—the dice have rolled! I'm Game has bagged its U/A 16+ certificate and is officially theatre-bound."
Advance reservations for the film are also open as of now. Directed by Nahas Hidhayath of RDX fame, I'm Game also stars Kayadu Lohar, Mysskin, Antony Varghese, Samyuktha Viswanathan, Vinay Forrt, and Kathir, among others. The film has a screenplay by Sajeer Baba, Bilal Moidu, and Ismail Aboobacker, with dialogues by Adarsh Sukumaran, Shabas Rasheed, and Sajeer Baba.
On the technical front, I'm Game has cinematographer Jimshi Khalid, composer Jakes Bejoy, editor Chaman Chakko, production designer Ajayan Chalissery, and sports choreography by Robert Miller. The film brings Dulquer Salmaan back to Malayalam cinema in a full-length for the first time after 2023's King of Kotha, although he did play a cameo in last year's blockbuster Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra.
I'm Game was initially set for an Onam release before the makers postponed it to September 03, Thursday. Besides starring in the film's lead role, Dulquer also produces it under his Wayfarer Films banner, along with Jom Varghese. It is also expected to release in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada.
Beyond the gambling-based film, Dulquer Salmaan also has Sri Sri with Pooja Hegde and Aakasamlo Oka Tara with Satvika Veeravalli and Shruti Haasan up next. Recently, Nivin Pauly also expressed his desire to reunite with Dulquer for a film.
