Actor Bhagyashri Borse took to her Instagram Stories space on Sunday and announced the completion of the first production schedule on Operation Ganga, co-starring Mohanlal and directed by Vishnu Mohan. Making the announcement with a photograph featuring her with the film's director, she wrote, "Had so much fun shooting for Operation Ganga. Vishnu Mohan sir, your kindness is your super power!!! I really admire you as a director. Thanks for having me (as part of this project)."
The upcoming film marks Bhagyashri Borse’s debut in Malayalam cinema following her previous roles in films such as Kaantha and Lenin. She recently shared a photograph with the film's lead actor, Mohanlal, and stated that being his co-actor felt like a blessing. She added, "Every day of shoot, I get to see cinema through your eyes and learn from you.. you are truly gifted sir." Her sentiment echoed that of co-star Arjun Rampal, who recently discussed his experience working alongside Mohanlal as well. It is worth noting that Arjun Rampal also makes his debut in Malayalam with a role in the upcoming film.
Operation Ganga is based on the 2022 Indian government mission to rescue stranded citizens from Ukraine and its surrounding regions during the Russian invasion. Produced by Gokulam Gopalan under the Sree Gokulam Movies banner, the film’s ensemble cast also includes R Parthiban.
On the technical front, the film has music director Shashwat Sachdev, stunt choreographer Sea Young Oh, cinematographer Miroslaw Kuba Brozek, editor Shameer Muhammed, and production designer Rajeevan. Director Vishnu Mohan recently noted to Cinema Express that such an ambitious film would require extra time to finalise a solid crew, as it could not be executed as a standard Malayalam release.
Apart from Operation Ganga, Bhagyashri Borse’s upcoming lineup includes Seyon, co-starring Sivakarthikeyan.
