Mamitha Baiju has been having a remarkable year so far in terms of critical appreciation and commercial success. While the year's first release for her, Kara, co-starring Dhanush, was met with criticism for her limited involvement in the film, each of her subsequent releases earned over 250 crore at the global box office. Thus, Mamitha became only the third actress from India to have three back-to-back 250-crore-plus grossing films in the same year, the first two actors being Deepika Padukone and Alia Bhatt.
Mamitha Baiju's performance in Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, opposite Nivin Pauly, and Vishwanath and Sons, opposite Suriya, especially, earned her much praise for the ease with which she conveyed the stark differences between the two characters. Her performance in Bethlehem Kudumba Unit played a part in it becoming the highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time as well.
The actor's growing popularity has only added to the widespread attention around her personal life. Consequently, a recent viral post on the internet claimed that her brother Mithun Baiju makes all the important decisions for her in life, including the ones concerning her love life and marriage. The actor took to the comments section of the post and responded to it by leaving a minion sticker that contains the text, "whaaat?!" The actor's reaction to the speculation seems to express her sheer surprise at the rumour.
Mamitha Baiju's upcoming films include Irandu Vaanam with Vishnu Vishal, Hello Dear with her Premalu and Bethlehem Kudumba Unit co-star Sangeeth Prathap, and a yet-untitled project co-starring Ashwath Marimuthu in the lead role. The upcoming film has Mamitha's Dude co-star Pradeep Ranganathan in the role of a producer, and it also stars Swasika, debutant Anamika Mahi and Sivaji Sontineni playing important characters.
