The trailer of Mathew Thomas' long-delayed film Udumbanchola Vision suggests a thriller about modern media, the rivalry within, and the race for sensationalism. The film seems to follow an ordinary youngster who takes over a local cable channel, only to ruffle feathers with powerful media organisations, crime syndicates, and corporate bigwigs. It is directed by debutant Salaam Bukhari, a former associate of Anwar Rasheed.

Newcomer Alan Rodney has scripted the film, produced by Ashar Ameer and Riaz K Muhammed under the banners of A&R Media Labs and UB Productions. It is scheduled for release on October 21.

The cast includes Milind Soman, Dileesh Pothan, Sreenath Bhasi, Siddique, Ashokan, Baburaj, Sudev Nair, Jinu Joseph, Abhiram Radhakrishnan, Shankar Induchoodan, Shaheen Siddique, Bhagath Manuel, Chaithanya Prakash, Srinda, Neena Kurup, and R J Murugan, among others. The film has cinematography by Vishnu Thandassery, editing by Vivek Harshan and music by Gopi Sunder.

Mathew was last seen as one of the leads in Pradhama Drishtya Kuttakar, which premiered recently on Netflix after a successful run in theatres.
