Sangeeth Prathap and Sharaf U Dheen's It's A Medical Miracle is set to make its digital premiere on Manorama MAX on October 15, the streamer announced through social media. Written by actor Nileen Sandra and directed by debutant Shyamin Gireesh, the fantasy drama opened in theatres on September 18 to mixed reviews.
Akhila Bhargavan, who previously shared screen space with Sangeeth in Premalu, plays the female lead in the film. The cast also includes Kottayam Nazeer, Anand Manmadhan, Kiran Peethambaran and Parvathy R Krishna, among others. The story revolves around Ruben, played by Sangeeth, who develops extraordinary hearing abilities after waking up from a prolonged coma. It explores how he adapts to his newfound ability while becoming entangled in a dangerous situation involving a masked criminal.
It's A Medical Miracle has cinematography by Akhil Xavier, music by Mujeeb Majeed and editing by Rakesh Cherumadom. It is produced by Dr Paul Varghese and Sujith J Nair under the banners of Dr Paul's Entertainment and Dream Big Films, respectively.
An excerpt from the CE review of the film reads, “While superpowers are often seen as something to be envied, this film vaguely touches upon the other side of it. What's the cost of it? Also, should all superpower stories come with vigilantism? However, the makers seem more interested in pursuing a regular revenge angle that allows them to neatly wrap up the story and tie a bow around it. All we get then is a film whose real potential remains untapped or, say... unheard.”
