Actor Menaka is making a comeback after a long gap with a role in director Sanjeev Sivan's Oru Korean Confusion. It marks her first film after 2021's Andhadhun remake Bhramam, where she played a yesteryear hero's (Shankar) co-actor. On Saturday, she dropped a poster offering a first look at her character in the film and expressed her gratitude to the makers for choosing her for it.
In the caption, Menaka wrote, "I’m extremely happy and truly grateful to director Sanjeev Sivan and his wife, Deepti, for trusting me and giving me such a beautiful, full-fledged character to portray in the movie Oru Korean Confusion." The actor added, "When I first came here for the shoot, after so many years, I had a little hesitation in my mind. But honestly, all those fears soon disappeared. From day one, I felt a wonderful sense of family here."
Menaka also said that she carries "beautiful moments and and memories to cherish" with each of her Oru Korean Confusion team members before expressing gratitude to them for making her journey with the film "special and memorable". The film's technical team includes cinematographer Sudheer Surendran, composer Gulraj Singh and editor Sony Sasankan.
While Menaka is yet to reveal the specifics of her role, she expressed her happiness in making a comeback with "a wonderful character" in the upcoming film. She added, "It has been a truly memorable and fulfilling experience for me. I wish Oru Korean Confusion all the very best and hope the film achieves great success. See you all soon!"
Written and directed by Sanjeev Sivan, the upcoming film has additional screenplay and dialogues by Pratheesh Lal. It also stars Korean actor Ami Jung in an important role, alongside Alphonse Puthren, Binu Pappu, Anjana Appukuttan, Priyanka Nair, and Suresh Kumar.
The film is produced by Epic Studios and Beacon Media, in association with Tripod Motion Pictures. The makers keep plot specifics under wraps. That said, the tagline in the posters read, "Some confusions don't leave even after death."
