

The filming of Jayasurya’s upcoming film Mayan: Chapter 1, directed by Kalamkaval fame Jithin K Jose, was wrapped up on Saturday. The makers also announced December 3 as the film’s release date. The film is produced by Rajeev Govindan under the banner of Magic Moon Productions.
Mayan, which has Jayasurya as a police officer, is a mystery thriller. Reports suggest that the film’s story is set against the backdrop of centuries-old secret rituals and occult practices existing in Kerala and different parts of the world. Notably, the film's first schedule was shot in Russia.
Mayan also stars Nyla Usha, Vijay Babu, Officer On Duty actor Aiswarya Raj and Dies Irae-fame Jibin Gopinath in prominent roles. The screenplay has been co-written by Jithin and veteran filmmaker Raffi. The film reunites Jithin with most of his Kalamkaval technicians, including cinematographer Faisal Ali, music director Mujeeb Majeed and editor Praveen Prabhakar.
Meanwhile, Jayasurya has Titans, directed by Anugraheethan Antony-fame Prince Joy lined up for release on October 22. The fantasy comedy also stars Vinayakan in a major role.
