MG Sreekumar has sung several memorable songs for Mohanlal throughout his career, including fast-paced numbers and soulful melodies. For the superstar's upcoming film Athimanoharam, he has lent his voice to a song with a devotional touch. Titled 'Sundara Ravanan,' the first single from the film has lyrics by BK Harinarayanan and composition by Jakes Bejoy.
Athimanoharam brings Mohanlal, director Tharun Moorthy, and composer Jakes Bejoy back together after their collaboration on last year's blockbuster Thudarum. MG Sreekumar has also sung popular tracks for Thudarum such as 'Kanmanipoove' and 'Kondattam'.
Written by Retheesh Ravi, the upcoming film also stars Meera Jasmine as the wife of Mohanlal's character, a police officer named Lovelajan. Earlier, Meera starred with Mohanlal in Rasathanthram, Innathe Chintha Vishayam, and Ladies and Gentleman. The superstar's 2025 film Hridayapoorvam also features Meera in a brief cameo.
Athimanoharam is produced by Ashiq Usman through his eponymous banner. The film is described as a blend of police procedural and family drama. Also part of the cast are Binu Pappu, who played a key role in Thudarum, Manoj K Jayan, Bhama Arun, Jagadish, Lalu Alex, and Mukesh, among others.
On the technical front, it also has cinematographer Shaji Kumar, editor Shafeeque VB, and production designer Gokul Das. Production on the film has been wrapped. As reported earlier, the film is scheduled for a December 24 release in theatres.
Mohanlal wast seen with Rajinikanth in Jailer 2, a cameo that turned out to be a major talking point in the South Indian film industry. Mohanlal's upcoming films also include Operation Ganga and Ram with Jeethu Joseph, as well as a project each with Anoop Sathyan, Priyadarshan, Dileesh Pothan, Sathyan Anthikad, and Jude Anthany Joseph. He is also expected to do a film with director-actor Anoop Menon.
