Unconfirmed reports suggest that Mohanlal is set to collaborate with Chidambaram, the filmmaker behind the blockbuster Manjummel Boys, for a new film. While an official announcement is still awaited, industry buzz indicates that the project could go on floors in October and is expected to be mounted on a grand scale.
The reported collaboration adds to an already packed slate of high-profile projects lined up for Mohanlal, who is currently working with filmmakers such as Tharun Moorthy, Priyadarshan and Dileesh Pothan. Acclaimed cinematographer Shyju Khalid is also reportedly attached to the Chidambaram project.
Meanwhile, Chidambaram is gearing up for the release of his next directorial Balan: The Boy, which is scheduled to hit theatres on June 19. The film is scripted by Jithu Madhavan, known for helming the blockbuster films Romancham and Aavesham.
Several key crew members from Manjummel Boys are reuniting for Balan, including composer Sushin Shyam, cinematographer Shyju Khalid, production designer Ajayan Chalissery and editor Vivek Harshan. The film reportedly features an entirely fresh cast selected through auditions, with Tovino Thomas playing a pivotal cameo.
