Earlier, we reported about Parvathy Thiruvothu coming back together with Prithviraj Sukumaran after 2018's Koode for a film titled, i, Nobody. Directed by Nisam Basheer, known for Kettyolaanu Ente Malakha and Rorschach, the film is produced by Supriya Menon, CV Sarathi, and Mukesh R Mehta.
Recently, Parvathy Thiruvothu spoke about her experience working on the film. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter India, Parvathy said that i, Nobody is a stylish satire with a 'cool' and 'brilliant' title. She added that most of her films have English titles.
Speaking about her director, the actor said, "Nisam Basheer is very rooted in the style of filmmaking, the camera angle, the movement, the edits, the music... He sometimes plays the background music on set while the rehearsals are happening."
Parvathy added that she looked at the monitor and watched all the shots for i, Nobody for the first time in her career. "Nisam is not bothered about our acting calibre. He told us, 'You guys got it'. Instead, he wanted a specific movement from my character. So it felt more like a movement choreography."
The actor said that while she does not like to watch the monitor following a take, she did for the upcoming film. "Because I feel, if I watch my own face, subconsciously I will start adjusting in a way that I would look pretty," Parvathy explained her decision not to look at the monitor. Clarifying what she meant, the actor suggested that checking the monitor would make her feel a tad insecure about how she looks onscreen. The actor also said that she avoids looking at the monitor to ensure that her performance comes across "as raw as possible" in the final output.
However, Parvathy decided to break away from her custom for the upcoming Nisam Basheer directorial venture because, she said, "it was incumbent on the way I moved and sat that the edit would be formed". She added, "So I became more of a student of that filmmaking style. After every shot, me and the child actors in the film would huddle and watch it. So I feel like it was exposure therapy for me."
