Director Mahesh Narayanan's film Patriot has opened in theatres to mixed reviews from critics and audiences. However, those from the film fraternity have been praising the film, starring Mammootty, Kunchacko Boban, Fahadh Faasil, Mohanlal, and Rajiv Menon, among others. Director Jeethu Joseph expressed his happiness seeing both Mammootty and Mohanlal back together onscreen after a long time with the film.
Meanwhile, actor Divya Prabha also shared a positive review for it on social media. Taking to her Instagram Stories, Divya wrote, "As a constant collaborator and a friend, I'm really proud of you Mahesh. Handling such a big subject and bringing everything together with balance is not easy. Loved the filmmaking, the visuals, and the performances in Patriot. Do watch it in theatres."
For the uninitiated, Divya Prabha starred in Mahesh's films such as Take Off, Malik, and Ariyippu.
Divya also talked about her experience watching the two Big M's of Malayalam cinema reuniting after a long time with the film. "Watching Mammootty and Mohanlal together on big screen after a long time was such a special experience," she wrote in her Patriot review.
The actor also conveyed her "congratulations to the entire cast and crew" of the film and gave shout-outs to cinematographer Manush Nandan "for the killer frames" and actor Rajiv Menon. "What a performer you are," Divya wrote, referring to Rajiv.
She made a special mention of composer Sushin Shyam's score, calling it 'gripping'. Referring to Zarin Shihab, Revathy and Darshana Rajendran, she wrote, "Loved the way they carried their characters with such depth and conviction."
Divya Prabha's Patriot review comes at a time when Mahesh is facing flak from those who disliked the film and even hatred for his handling of the Mohanlal character in it. According to some, Mohanlal has been underutilised in the film.
