Veteran Malayalam actor Mohanlal has taken to social media to wish his daughter and debut actor Vismaya Mohanlal on her birthday, sharing a warm and deeply personal message. The message arrives at a significant moment in Vismaya's life. Her debut film, Thudakkam (The Beginning), directed by 2018: Everyone Is A Hero filmmaker Jude Anthany Joseph, is currently in production under Antony Perumbavoor's Aashirvad Cinemas banner, with shooting having recently wrapped. The film is scheduled for a theatrical release during the Onam festival season.
Mohanlal's words echo the pride he expressed at Thudakkam's formal launch in Kochi last October, where he reflected on his daughter's decision to enter cinema. "She wished to act in a film, and we have all the facilities to make that possible, though acting is never easy," he had said at the event.
Beyond her acting aspirations, Vismaya is already an accomplished poet, painter, and author, having published her debut book Grains of Stardust in 2020. She is also a trained martial artist, with her Muay Thai training in Thailand believed to have shaped her preparation for what many expect to be an action-oriented debut role.
Thudakkam also stars Aashish Joe Antony alongside Vismaya, with Mohanlal himself reportedly appearing in a pivotal cameo.
