Joining the re-release trend is Lijo Jose Pellissery's debut film Nayakan. The film's 4K restored version is up for release, but the makers are yet to confirm a date. Lijo, lead actor Indrajith Sukumaran and other team members announced the re-release plans with a new poster.
Nayakan, which originally hit screens in 2010, is an action-thriller centred around Varadanunni, a Kathakali artist, who joins the underworld to seek vengeance for his family's killing. PS Rafeeque, who later went on to collaborate with Lijo in Amen and Malaikottai Vaaliban, marked his scripting debut with this film.
While Indrajith played the protagonist Varadanunni, Thilakan essayed a prominent role as Vincent Karanavar/Vincent Vadakkan, an underworld mafia kingpin. The film also had Siddique, Jagathy Sreekumar, Vijayaraghavan, Lalu Alex, Kalashala Babu, Chemnan Vinod Jose, and Dhanya Mary Varghese in important roles.
Meanwhile, Lijo is making his Hindi debut with Dilkashi, headlined by Abhay Verma and Zahaan Kapoor. Backed by Hansal Mehta and Sahil Saigal, the film has music by AR Rahman. Karan Vyas and Lijo are scripting the film, the first look of which was unveiled recently at Prime Video’s 2026 slate announcement.
