Reportedly, filmmaker Rahul Sadasivan is set to continue his love affair with the supernatural. Reports indicate that Rahul is gearing up for an upcoming horror film. While an official confirmation regarding the project is still awaited, the buzz within the industry is that it would have a strong set of actors.

As per Deshabhimani, the upcoming film is likely to star Prithviraj Sukumaran in an important role, alongside Manju Warrier. If the reports are true, it would bring Prithviraj back to pure horror cinema for the first time after 2017's Ezra. It is worth noting that his 2019 film 9 also has elements of horror in it, alongside science-fiction elements. On the other hand, Manju recently starred in horror films such as The Priest and Chathur Mukham.

Rahul scored a 'horror hattrick' with all three of his films in the genre earning critical appreciation and box office success.

While he made his debut with a 2013 science-fiction thriller titled Red Rain, he shot to fame with the Sony LIV film Bhoothakaalam (2022), starring Shane Nigam and Revathi in the lead roles. He backed up the success of Bhoothakaalam with 2024's Bramayugam, starring Mammootty, Arjun Ashokan, and Sidharth Bharathan. Considered a hit upon its 2024 release, Bramayugam recent made its way into the Academy Museum, earning appreciation from international audiences. He most recently directed Dies Irae, starring Pranav Mohanlal, Gibin Gopinath, Jaya Kurup, and Sushmitha Bhat, among others.

Dies Irae earned a worldwide net collection of around 41 crore, according to data from the industry tracker Sacnilk, and is commercially successful. Considering the filmmaker's track record, audiences are eagerly awaiting an official announcement regarding his next film. At least judging by record reports, it is very likely to be a horror feature.
