Malayalam actor and popular UAE-based radio jockey Meera Nandan has shared a heartfelt message from Thailand, where she and her husband are currently stranded amid ongoing tensions in West Asia triggered by the Iran-Israel conflict. In a social media post, Meera thanked well-wishers who reached out to check on her safety, saying, “It honestly means so much to us.” The couple had travelled to Thailand after attending Meera’s best friend’s wedding, marking their first trip of 2026 and their first visit to the country. She described their holiday as “such a wonderful time”.

However, just as they were preparing to return home, the recent escalation of conflict in the region disrupted travel plans. While many friends and followers urged them to return to India instead, Meera made it clear that their hearts are set on the Gulf nation. “Honestly, we can’t wait to return to the UAE. That kind of feeling only comes when a place truly feels like home,” she wrote.

Meera and her husband are currently uncertain about when they will be able to make the journey back. She assured fans that they are taking things “one day at a time” and doing their best to make wherever they are feel like home until they can return to theirs. Reflecting on her deep connection with the UAE, Meera noted that she has lived there for the past 11 and a half years, while her husband Sreeju has been there for nearly a year and a half. “If he already feels this deeply about going back, imagine the sense of security and belonging the UAE gives you,” she added.

She concluded her message with gratitude towards the country that has become her second home: “Thank you for being our home, UAE. Thank you to the leaders of this nation and to the incredible people who make it what it is. We’re so grateful and we truly can’t wait to be back.”

Meera, who made her acting debut in 2008 with the Dileep-starrer Mulla, has appeared in over 30 films. She was last seen in the 2023 film Ennalum Ente Aliya. In recent years, she has gained wide popularity as a radio jockey in the UAE.
