Produced by Vinayaka Ajith under his eponymous banner, Harivarasanam has been described by its makers as "a divine tale" that blends emotion, devotion and drama. The title poster, unveiled earlier this week, featured a man carrying a child on his shoulders while ascending the sacred 18 steps of the Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple, hinting at the spiritual backdrop of the story. While plot details remain under wraps, the makers have revealed that several prominent actors from across South India will be part of the cast.

As part of the preparations, a large-scale set recreating the Sabarimala temple premises is being constructed at Chitranjali Studio in Thiruvananthapuram. On the technical front, Harivarasanam has music composed by Ranjin Raj, best known for his work in the devotional hit Malikappuram. The film's crew also includes cinematographer Sajad Kaakku, editor Ajiesh Edamon, production designer Rakhil and project designer P Jayachandran.
