Notably, it was during the filming of Law and Order that Ranjith was arrested for sexual harrasing a female actor on the sets. The actor alleged that the incident took place on January 28 at a shooting location in Fort Kochi, where the director allegedly entered her caravan without permission, held her and attempted to kiss her. The actor stated that he withdrew when she resisted. Following her confidential statement, the police acted swiftly and arrested Ranjith on March 31. After spending around 10 days in jail, the filmmaker was released on bail under stringent conditions. A Special Investigation Team led by the Kochi City Police Commissioner has been tasked with probing the case.
