

On Monday, Prithviraj Sukumaran took to social media to announce the wrap of his upcoming film, Khalifa, which is set to release in two parts. Directed by Vysakh, the first part of Khalifa is set to release on August 20, for the Onam festival.
Taking to his Instagram handle, the actor, wrote, "It’s a WRAP on Khalifa! Aamir Ali will follow Rajeevan..The smuggler will meet you after the nobody! KHALIFA Part 1. In theatres worldwide from 20th August 2026!"
While Prithviraj will portray gold smuggler Aamir Ali in Khalifa, he will essay Rajeevan in Nissam Basheer's i, Nobody. Also starring Parvathy, i, Nobody will release in theatres on July 9.
Meanwhile, Khalifa will also feature Mohanlal as Mambarakkal Ahmed Ali, the grandfather of Aamir Ali. The makers have also teased Mohanlal's involvement in the larger narrative across both parts of the film. Neil Nitin Mukesh is also part of Khalifa's cast.
Jinu V Abraham has written the film. Jakes Bejoy is on board the as the film's music composer. The crew also includes cinematographer Jomon T John, editor Chaman Chakko and action choreographer Yannick Ben.
