Production on Tharun Moorthy and Mohanlal's next film, Athimanoharam, is going on in full swing. Earlier this Saturday, Tharun took to social media and announced that it has completed another production schedule. Sharing behind-the-scenes pictures from the film set, the filmmaker wrote, "Yet another perfect schedule wrapped up! Through rain, heat, and every challenge along the way, my team has been in terrific form. We’ve said goodbye to so many beautiful locations, and many outstanding actors have successfully completed their parts."
Tharun revealed that around 80 per cent of production on the film has been completed, and that he and his team are getting into the last phase of filming. "Just a few more days to go, and the excitement is building every single day. Can’t wait for all of you to experience the Athimanohara energy, and Athimanohara vibe of this film and see what we’ve created together with our Lalettan," Tharun added. For the unversed, the title Athimanoharam means 'very beautiful'.
It brings Tharun and Mohanlal back together after their collaboration on last year's Thudarum, one of the highest-grossing films in the actor's career and the history of Malayalam cinema. Mohanlal plays a police officer named TS Lovelajan in the film. It also has Meera Jasmine playing Lovelajan's spouse. In a recent interaction with a fan, Tharun described it as "police procedural and family drama." In the BTS images that Tharun shared earlier today, actors such as Binu Pappu (who starred in Thudarum) and Irshad Ali can be seen.
Tharun is directing the film from a screenplay by Ratheesh Ravi, and Ashiq Usman is producing it through his eponymous banner. On the technical front, it has cinematography by Shaji Kumar, music by Jakes Bejoy, sound design by Vishnu Govind, and editing by Vivek Harshan. With production on the film nearing its completion, the audience is eagerly awaiting the announcement of a release date from the makers.
