Actor Mareena Michael Kurisingal has thanked a section of the public for their support for her following her revelatory comments about actor-television presenter Pearle Maaney. Earlier this Saturday, we reported about Mareena hitting back at Pearle Maaney for her contentious comments and actions with regard to the student protests in Delhi over NEET paper leaks. The actor questioned Pearle Maaney's stance in the issue and her decision to disable her comments section and block those who criticised her for her views in the protests.
In her latest post, Mareena Michael Kurisingal said that it is not about winning a battle against someone else but rather about healing. She dedicated the post to "everyone who has ever been cyberbullied, mocked, silenced, or made to feel invisible for speaking your truth or simply for being genuine." Saying "today, I feel seen," the actor shared a long note where she expressed her gratitude to her supporters.
In the note, Mareena Michael Kurisingal said, "Over the last few days, I've received hundreds of messages. I've read every word with tears in my eyes. For years, I carried a pain that very few people knew about. I questioned myself, stayed silent, and tried to move on because I believed that was the only way to heal. Some wounds don't leave scars that people can see, but they stay with you every single day."
For the unversed, earlier today, Mareena effectively confirmed the rumour that Pearle Maaney turned down an opportunity to interview her because of her lack of experience and reputation in cinema.
The actor added, "There were moments when I wondered if my voice even mattered. If anyone would ever understand what that experience had done to me." She also touched upon how others speaking about their experiences with the actor-television presenter made her feel that she was not fighting a lonely battle. "Today, because of all of you, I know I wasn't alone. Thank you to everyone who took a moment to listen before judging."
