After Porinju Mariam Jose (2019) and Antony (2023), actor Joju George and director Joshiy are set to collaborate once again for a film titled Kanaandesham. The film will have a screenplay by actor-writer-filmmaker Anoop Menon, known for penning Cocktail (2010), Beautiful (2011), and Trivandrum Lodge (2012), among others. The film also brings Joju back together with screenwriter Anoop Menon after 2013's Hotel California, where Anoop also starred with the former.

Joju announced the project earlier this Sunday, coinciding with Joshiy's birthday. "Announcing our next film directed by the living Legend....happy birthday dearest joshiy sir..seeking all your blessings for our dream project.. The Legend Back Again," the actor shared on social media.

The announcement video features a tagline that translates to: "This is your earth, your sky." According to a press release, the film will have a combination of mass and classy elements, a bit like the actor and the director's previous collaborations.

Kanaandesham will be produced by Sijo Vadakkan and Varky George under the Appu Pathu Pappu banner. The makers are yet to reveal additional details about the project, including its story, additional cast members, and technical crew. However, according to the press note, it will have some of the biggest stars and technicians of Malayalam cinema. The makers plan to bring Kanaandesham to theatres in five languages, and it is billed as a pan-India film. Production on the film will commence in August.

Joju George stars in director Shaji Kailas's latest film Varavu. The actor's upcoming films include Aja Sundari, a sequel to his directorial debut Pani, another directorial venture titled Paripadi, and Aasha with Urvashi.

On the other hand, Joshiy's upcoming films also include a yet-untitled project with actor Unni Mukundan. Announced on Joshiy's birthday last year, the film is billed as an "action extravaganza" and reunites the legendary filmmaker with his Porinju Mariam Jose writer Abhilash N Chandran.
