Recently, we reported about director Anurag Kashyap praising Mollywood Times. The filmmaker watched the cinema satire with its director Abhinav Sunder Nayak and showered the film and its maker with effusive praise. Soon after that, it has been revealed that he also watched Abhinav's breakout debut film Mukundan Unni Associates and praised it.
Actor Vineeth Sreenivasan, who stars in Mukundan Unni Associates, shared a screenshot of Anurag's review of the film on his Instagram handle. In the screenshot, the text reads, "Absolute bangar.. so brilliantly written and put together.. Vineeth Sreenivasan is so good. It was also an experience to embarrass the filmmaker by watching the film with him. I am a fan Abhinav."
In response, Vineeth shared, "I want to write so much, but I am at a loss of words. Dealing with a sea of emotions, reading the comment from one of my favourite film makers in India. I might delete this post tomorrow because sharing this do feel like a bit of a show off from my side. But this night let me show off."
Vineeth also expressed his gratitude to director Abhinav Sunder Nayak for casting him in the film and showing it to Anurag Kashyap. "Grateful to you Abhinav Sunder Nayak.. Anurag Kashyap sir mentioned my name. That 13 year old boy who saw Sathya is spellbound!! Thank you for Mukundan Unni."
In the comments section of his post, Abhinav Sunder Nayak asked Vineeth not to delete the post where he responded to Anurag's appreciation of the dark comedy.
For the unversed, Sathya refers to director Ram Gopal Varma's acclaimed 1998 film, also written by Anurag Kashyap. It is often mentioned as one of the greatest films of all time in Indian cinema, alongside its 2002 spiritual sequel Company. Anurag's praise for Mukundan Unni Associates comes not long after Abhinav revealed his plans for a sequel to it.
