Actor-filmmaker Johny Antony, Niram actor Boban Alummoodan and Sminu Sijo are starring in a new Malayalam film titled Christmas in July. The makers announced the project on social media alongside the release of a title motion poster. Shot entirely in Australia, it is directed by Philip Kakkanattu and written by Jomon John.
Christmas in July has cinematography by Rah Sharma and Fivaz Buys, editing by Dhanesh S, and music and background score composed by Shaik Illahi MS. The film is produced by Johnathan and Bindu Jomon under the banner of Cantown Creations. Details regarding the plot, genre, extended cast and release plans are being kept under wraps.
Johny's upcoming slate as an actor also includes Ranjith's Law & Order, which is scheduled to hit screens on July 24. Earlier this year, he also announced a sequel to his most successful directorial venture, CID Moosa, with Dileep returning in the titular lead role. The second instalment is expected to be released in 2027.
