The psychological thriller Eko, directed by Dinjith Ayyathan and written by Bahul Ramesh, continues to garner positive feedback even weeks after its release in theatres and subsequently on Netflix. The latest to share his Eko movie review is actor Dhanush. Taking to social media, the actor called it "a masterpiece" and made a special note of Biana Momin's performance in one of the film's central roles. "Biana momin deserves all the highest honours. World class performance," Dhanush wrote in his Eko movie review. Interestingly, Eko marks Biana's acting debut as a Malaysian character named Mlathi Chedathi. She is known for her work in the educational segment of Meghalaya. With Eko, she became the first woman from the Garo tribe to act in Malayalam cinema.

Dinjith Ayyathan: Attempting Eko before Kishkindha Kaandam would have meant compromises

Eko follows the search for a mysterious man named Kuriachan (Saurabh Sachdev) by a group of characters, including a Navy officer (Narain), a youngster (Sandeep Pradeep) and a couple of cops (Binu Pappu and Renjit Shekar). When the search become deeper, more intense, each of them discover a new aspect of Kuriachan's character even as he remains an elusive figure.

In a recent conversation with CE, Narain said that his character in the film is indeed a Navy officer and not a policeman, like a lot of the theories surrounding it suggest. Reuniting Dinjith with his Kishkindha Kaandam writer and cinematographer Bahul, Eko opened in theatres in November last year to plenty of positive reviews from audiences and critics. It went on to gross over 50 crore from theatres worldwide as well.
