Kalamkaval, the crime thriller headlined by Mammootty, is set to premiere on Sony LIV on January 16. The film also stars Vinayakan and Rajisha Vijayan in the lead.
Jithin K Jose directed Kalamkaval in his directorial debut. Jithin also wrote lyrics and composed a song from the film's soundtrack. Kalamkaval was released in theatres on December 5, with Mammootty himself producing under his Mammootty Kampany banner. Jithin wrote Kalamkaval along with Jishnu Sreekumar.
The film also starred Vinayakan, Rajisha Vijayan, Shruti Ramachandran, Jibin Gopinath, among others. Mujeeb Majeed composed music for the film, with Mammootty's grandson, Adyan Sayeed lending vocals for 'Redback', from the film's soundtrack.
CE's review of the film read, "Mammootty in the post-pandemic era has been a different beast. The film’s premise already offers enough promise for an actor of his stature, but it becomes even more compelling when he opts for a complete role reversal.
